Autumn school of English for A-levels

The range of events for secondary school students continues in the autumn. This time, again with the support of the Pilsen Region, the department for secondary school students organized an evening course to prepare for the state English language exam called Ace Your English A-Levels. In four intensive sessions, students practice the basic skills needed to successfully pass the English exam. The course includes working with didactic tests and improving written and spoken expression. As with the summer school, native speakers are involved in the teaching.

Summer School

This year, the Department of Philological Studies has focused on cooperation with secondary schools. With the support of the Pilsen Region, it organized a summer school of Anglo-American culture for secondary school students entitled On the Road Through the Anglophone World: Life, Language and Popular Culture in the first week of July.

The week-long intensive course, in which five members of the English Department, including native speakers, offered young people a unique opportunity not only to expand their knowledge of the English language, but also learn about what life is like today in English-speaking countries.
